We made these this weekend, and Rowan devoured them. He has gotten great at yelling “more, more! (mo! mo!)” which is exciting. He is becoming this little human with very STRONG opinions which is both cute and a little scary.
These are fabulous for anyone at anytime. I think they would make a good first food for a baby if you cut them into small cubes and left out the salt.
Baked Sweet Potato Pie Fries
Sweet Potatoes
Olive oil or a vegetable oil of your choice
Sweet Potato Pie Seasoning:
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
Preheat oven 425 degrees.
Make the seasoning by mixing salt, cinnamon and nutmeg in a small bowl to combine. Set aside.
Line a baking sheet with tin foil or parchment paper. Peel and slice sweet potatoes into strips. Lay them in an even layer on the baking sheet. Do not overcrowd. Toss the fries in the oil to coat. Sprinkle the fries with seasoning and toss again. There will be seasoning left over to use another time.
Bake until fries are tender and golden, about 20 minutes. Half way through the baking time, flip the fries, so they bake evenly. Keep an eye on your fries, as oven times will vary. It really depends on how hot your oven gets. Let cool about 10-15 minutes before eating.
They sound great and easy! I've been buying a frozen brand but this looks pretty easy and it's nice whenever I can make something instead of having something out of a bag! Thanks for the great recipe!
I love all things Sweet Potato! I haven't made the fries homemade before, but I will now! Rowan seemed to love them so they must have been delicious!
Thanks for sharing 🙂
I love these fries and always buy them in a bag. Would love to try fresh ones. Thanks for posting!
Oh I have been looking for a delicious Sweet Potato Fry recipe! I will have to give these a try! They look Delicious!
They look so yummy! and healthy too! My daughter would love these
I LOVE sweet potato fries but haven't made my own yet. Just bought them frozen once and always order them when we go out to eat. The only problem is I'm the only one in our family who will eat them. I can't even get my daughters to give them a try. They just don't know what they're missing. So delicious. Your little guy is adorable. Sounds like he's at that fun age when they start telling us how they really feel. Enjoy it! 🙂
Blessings,
~Rosann
The frozen ones didn't go over well here. But I'm willing to try this just for me!
Oh man! Nutmeg…that's what I've been missing 🙂
Nutmeg is the key ingredient, huh! I love your photos on this. Especially your little guy at the end;)
Yummie! I love fries!
