I spotted this video on the very lovely, Simple Lovely blog, and was so inspired. Since having Rowan, it is a bit shocking how much I think about my mortality. I am really concerned with living a long and healthy life, so that I can enjoy my son for as long as humanly possible.
Shot in Fire Island, New York, this film captures the secrets of eternal youth as Maia Helles, a Russian ballet dancer turns 95 but still remains resolutely independent, healthy and as fit as a forty year old. Made by Julia Warr, artist and film maker met Maia on a plane 4 years ago and became utterly convinced by the benefits of her daily exercise routine, which Maia perfected, together with her Mother, over 60 years ago, long before exercise classes were ever invented. (2011)

What a beautiful video. So peaceful and inspiring. Timely, too. Just this morning, I made a vow to do yoga on the back porch with the kids every morning this summer. When I need some motivation (which I will), I'll come back and watch this. Thank you so much for posting.
