homemade microwave popcorn

I just found out that you can make microwave popcorn using a brown paper lunch bag, genius! We made two bags in a row out of pure fascination of how easy it was to do. It came out delicious, and with no scary toxins. Rowan loved it too, and had fun eating it out of the brown bag.

I made this batch with olive oil and sea salt.

Homemade Microwave Popcorn

1/4 cup popcorn kernels
1 brown paper bag
Sea salt
Good Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Add popcorn to the brown paper bag. Fold over bag a few times to seal. Set the timer on the microwave for 3 minutes and wait until popping slows to a few seconds per pop. My bag took 2 minutes and 50 seconds, but all microwaves are different.

Drizzle with a little olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt. I used the fine sea salt as it sticks to each popcorn kernel better.

Olive oil and sea salt = simple but super delicious on popcorn! I even add black pepper when I'm feeling for a little smoke and spiciness!

Smart woman! Popcorn is my favorite, yum! I store mine in a big mason jar like this. We typically pop ours on the stove, but this looks like a super time saver!

Btw, regular microwave popcorn is so very unhealthy. Thanks for sharing a clean and simple alternative. You are AWESOME!
