Make your own Anti-Aging Eye Cream

Sooo, I am not get any younger, and even though Rowan is now 4, I am still not getting a ton more sleep. Plus, our recent move to San Diego has exposed my skin to a ton of more skin damaging sunlight. Lately, I have been really concentrating on skin care that will help keep this pesky wrinkles and sun damage at bay.

Here is a simple, beautiful recipe for an eye cream that I have been loving lately. It takes advantage of some of the same rejuvenating essential oils I used in this homemade facial serum and this scrub. It feels so good going on, and I feel a little fresher each morning after using it the night before. Plus, you can make it in less than 5 minutes, so there is really no hassle. Honestly, I think it takes more energy to order an expensive, eye cream on Amazon, than it does to just make this lovely, organic concoction yourself.

Anti-Aging Eye Cream

1/4 Cup Vitamin E Cream
2 Tablespoons softened Shea Butter
7 drops of Rosehip seed oil
5 drops of Carrot seed oil
3 capsules of Evening Primrose Oil

Melt Shea Butter in either a double boiler on the stove or in the microwave. Let it cool and stir it just before it hardens. As you stir the butter will take on a creamy consistency. Combine Shea Butter with Vitamin E Cream and mix until smooth and creamy. Add essential oils. Then puncture Evening Primrose capsules with a sterilized pin or scissors and add to cream. Store in a small container. You can repurpose a used eye cream container.

Such a great idea to make your own eye cream! Anti-aging eye creams can cost a ridiculous amount – and at least this way you know exactly what's going into it too 🙂

Using fun modalities like this Rainbow Breathing tool, can be a good way to introduce this practice to young people in a fun way that won’t make the practice seem too intimidating.
