I threw this little game together on the fly when we had to bring our son out to dinner this Saturday night. I had made reservations at this “nicer than our normal” restaurant when I thought we would have a babysitter in place. In true fashion, our plans were thwarted when said sitter had to reschedule. I was committed to going out because my need for a margarita was escalating as the day progressed. This game was a winner in our book. It bought us about an extra 15 minutes to down our margaritas before our son announced indignantly “I’m so full! I gotta get out a here!”. Sigh.
Give it a try. I included an adding and subtracting component because a little math never hurt anyone, right? The game is played by rolling the dice then adding or subtract the numbers. The resulting number is how many things of the shown color you need to spy. For instance, 3-4=1 so you need to find 1 blue thing. It got fun with the color purple which was a surprisingly hard color to locate. When we got 6+6 and needed to find 12 purple things, it was pretty funny. The game got us laughing, which made my margarita taste even better.
