For the week between Christmas and New Year’s, our family headed down to Oaxaca City in Mexico. We had hikes planned, ancient ruins to see, with Mezcal and Oaxacan hot chocolate drinks on our wish lists. We were interested in the art and culture of this place, and were excited to spend a few days immersed.
This is a scavenger hunt page for the airport. Once you find the item in the shape, kids can color in the shape to fill the whole page. Some images are blank too to color in as you like.
Here is a maze featuring a few basic spanish greetings. It is so important that kids and adults make a little effort to communicate in the language of the place you are visiting. A simple Buenos Dias, or Gracias is all that is needed to plant the seed of respect and honor when you are in Mexico or any other Spanish speaking country.
The front cover can be colored and the back page has journaling space for reflection or creating wishlists for places you may want to visit.
The booklet includes a coloring page with activities to try in Oaxaca while you are on your trip!
The last page is a postcard that you can color in or make your own from any vacation you are on. Print them out ahead of time and kids can color pictures and send to friends. This is a great way for them to stay connected.
