How are you feeling?
I wrote and designed How are you feeling? when I was struggling with my own big feelings as a parent. This book was a project that I shared with my son when I was working on myself and my parenting. During Covid, I found myself impatient and frustrated, as I tried to navigate homeschooling and a world that felt scary and untethered.

I did not grow up feeling comfortable sharing feelings. Big feelings like anger, sadness even excessive joy could be met with tightness and frustration. Things were different back then. Adults coping with their own pain. But this pain of past generations was seeping into me. I don’t think I am alone.

I created this book as much for me as I did for children. The act of creating it forced me to think about my own feelings, a first step to transformation. I realized that looking inward at my feelings was a muscle that I needed to strengthen.

“Social and emotional skills developed in early childhood lay the groundwork for success later in life. Children who can manage their emotions, communicate effectively, and form positive relationships with others are equipped to navigate the challenges of school, work, and personal relationships throughout their lifetime.”
